MASS RETIREES ENDORSE GROSSMAN FOR GOVERNOR
Association with more than 62,000 members cites his commitment to economic security, transparency, and integrity
BOSTON, MA – Mass Retirees, the state’s leading advocacy organization for public retirees and their families, endorsed State Treasurer Steve Grossman in his campaign for governor today, citing his commitment to economic security, transparency, and integrity.
“Steve has a proven track record of promises made and promises kept,” said Mass Retirees President Frank Valeri. “As governor, we know we can count on him to always protect the economic security of Massachusetts workers and retirees.”
“We’re proud to support Steve’s campaign for governor,” said Ralph White, President Emeritus of the Retired State, County, and Municipal Employees Association. “He has the vision and experience we need, along with a deep commitment to transparency and integrity that will always serve the people of Massachusetts well.”
“I’m deeply grateful to earn the support of the Massachusetts retirees,” said Grossman. “Together, we will continue standing up for Massachusetts workers and their families so that public servants can retire with the dignity they deserve.”
Mass Retirees, or the Retired State, County, and Municipal Employees Association, has more than 62,000 members and has been a leading advocate for Massachusetts public retirees and their families since 1968.
Steve Grossman took office as state treasurer in 2011 after a long career as a small businessman, philanthropist, and progressive political activist. He is running for governor because he believes the people of Massachusetts want proven leadership that leaves no one and no region behind.
